Increased efficiency with decareto:
  • 85% time savings in website auditing
  • Increase from 15 to 40 clients
Daniela Rennings founded her implementation-focused management consultancy in 2017, initially specializing in software selection consulting. When data protection suddenly became a hot topic in 2018, she read the entire GDPR in a single night and discovered her passion for the subject. Since then, she has believed that “data protection is a human right” and trained with an IT lawyer to advise companies on data protection issues in the future. She has been a cooperation partner of DEKRA since 2019.

In what way is the company specifically involved with data protection?

Rennings Umsetzungsberatung Neuss offers its clients comprehensive consulting on all aspects of data protection and provides the corresponding implementation. This includes, among other things, the complete organization of data protection management, the creation and review of the record of processing activities, as well as the performance of audits.

Why did Daniela Rennings choose the automated website scan with decareto?

Data protection is a topic with many sub-areas, explains Daniela Rennings. Staying up to date on all the important issues is essential—but also time-consuming. That’s why the data protection expert likes to use tools that automate processes. However, she has found that these tools often do not deliver what they promise—until a DEKRA colleague drew her attention to decareto. She tested the tool and was, as she says, “completely blown away by how fast it is, how much information—and above all, how much correct information—you get within just a few minutes.”

“decareto is my solution.”

What has changed since then?

Previously, Daniela Rennings says, checking websites was by far the most time-consuming task within her service offering. It often took several hours to thoroughly examine a site—and that was only the homepage. With the help of decareto, the data protection expert now scans up to 500 subpages and saves 85 percent of the time that was previously required. She uses this time to grow her business: the number of clients she supports has almost tripled since introducing the decareto tool. Daniela Rennings hopes to create additional jobs in the future.

Ms. Rennings, what do you think is the biggest advantage of the tool?

“My credo is: if I can’t describe something in simple terms, I haven’t understood it. Decareto’s reports impressively live up to this. Anyone can understand them and work with them. The color system and clear yes/no structure ensure that web designers know immediately what needs to be done.”
